Attic or room in roof insulation sounds similar to loft insulation, however, the way it is installed is different and depends on the room.

Room in Roof is a room in the roof with a set of stairs and a window. The insulation is attached to the roof rafters and then plastered. Loft insulation is used where the room in the roof is unhabitable and insulation is placed between and on top the joists.
Generally the coldest room in the house, this insulation can transform it into a warm living space, the pitched roof, sides and gables are insulated and plastered.
Lofts are topped up to a depth of 270mm. Pipes and tanks if present are lagged and loft hatches are insulated, and draft excluded.
Fitting Room in Roof or Loft will raise your energy performance certificate’s band. Save you money on your heating bill (up to £210 per year) and will keep you warmer during those cold months.
Room in roof/ Loft insulation lasts for a minimum of 25 years guaranteed.
To insulate a home, a survey of the house takes place. The room in roof has to be inspected and the correct way of insulation needs to be decided on. Once done, the insulation is installed and additional ventilation may be fitted if it’s required. For loft insulation, adequate ventilation is maintained.
